FRIC | Food Research and Innovation Center at the University of Fribourg, short FRIC, carries out research, teaching, and continuing education activities and provides services in food science in an interdisciplinary and independent manner. The FRIC started its operations in 2024. The FRIC is an inter-faculty center at the University of Fribourg. It’s a crucial component of the university’s long-term strategy. Our interconnected research clusters cover the topics of food production, food transformation, consumer and marketing, nutrition, and their impact on physical and mental health. The Food Centre is an academic and interdisciplinary platform for food science at the University of Fribourg, focusing on the sustainable use of raw materials in agriculture, research into new foodstuffs and sustainable food production, the role of the consumer, interactions of food and nutrition with mental and physical health.
